This is it. On Tuesday New Jerseyans will go to the polls with an opportunity to send a Republican United States Senator to Washington for the first time in 34 years. Tom Kean is in a position to win because of the tremendous effort put forth by volunteers and community leaders like you in the past few months. Our local effort is not only important to our community by sending a leader to Washington to represent our local interests; it's critical to keeping a Republican majority in the United States Senate.
Think about how important that Republican majority is to...American families looking for permanent tax relief...Our brave troops abroad counting on additional support and funding to continue on to victory...Finding a solution to illegal immigration and keeping America safe.
I've been on the road speaking as a surrogate for Tom at campuses and local community events spreading our message that Tom is the kind of Senator we'll be proud of in Washington. He's made a public case supporting Justices like Sam Alito; he's tough on immigration reform and strong on homeland security. He's also publicly attacked over-spending and the bloated Washington Bureaucracy. He'll make a better Senator for New Jersey than Bob Menendez and his victory will start us back on the road to successfully getting our idea's put into public policy.
Tom's victory will not only help the Republican Party nationwide, but will also serve as a first step to turning back the 'One-Party Rule' of the corrupt Democratic machine in Trenton. A Kean victory this year will help set the stage for competitive battles in many legislative districts during the 2007 State Senate and Assembly elections.
This election is going to go down to the wire. Turnout in a few key areas will make the difference. One of those key areas is Bergen County. There are two ways that you can help Tom win in Bergen County on Tuesday.
The first is to join me and the hard-charging volunteers that have been working tirelessly for the past 48 hours at the Bergen Victory 2006 Headquarters located at 440 Forest Avenue in Paramus, NJ on Monday at 8:30pm. We'll provide you with a hotel room for the evening so you can hit the ground running bright and early for our Election Day Get-Out-The-Vote effort. The second thing you can do to help immediately is to visit www.GOP.com/Call and sign up to make GOTV calls to your friends and neighbors on Monday evening. You can make the calls from home and everything from the list to the script is provided for you. Please commit to making 30 minutes of phone calls to remind fellow voters to hit the polls on Tuesday.
